The Look-In Archive would greatly appreciate contributions from fellow Look-In collectors who can find some time to scan pages in for us. The more the better, obviously, but even the odd issue or three would be very much appreciated.
If you are able to 'scan when you can' for us, please try to use the following format:
WHAT TO SCAN
Every picture strip page from a particular issue is needed. That means we'd like the B&W one pagers, the B&W 2-pagers, and all the colour pages from the issue.
SCAN RESOLUTION
Scan your pages in at at least 150 dpi, preferably 200-300 dpi. The higher the dpi (dots per inch), the easier it is to 're-master' or clean-up the pages before we upload them.
SCANNING SETTINGS
If your scanning software has the ability to 'descreen', then please use that feature to avoid the moira-effect patterns which scanning printed pages usually causes without descreening.
TYPE AND SIZE OF SCANNED FILE
Save your scanned pages as JPEGs to ensure a small(ish) file size. If you're using Photoshop, a JPEG quality of 6-8 should be good. For other graphic packages, a quality of 50-60% should be good. Try to aim for a file size of around 500-600kb as long as you're able to send that size file via your email.
EMAIL YOUR SCANS
Send your scanned pages to the Archive at the following email address:
If you have any questions about scanning for us, don't hesitate to contact me (Daz) and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Many thanks for any contributions you can make!
