I was curious to find out which strip actually replaced 'Terrahawks' from issue 17 of 1984 (which, ironically, I don't have)? 'Robin Of Sherwood' didn't start until issue 18 (which i do) so unusually there appears to be a week's gap between one strip ending and another beginning...

I think it may well have been Robin, It was'nt unknown for Look-in to miss a week before starting a new strip, maybe it was something to do with contractual things, and they could'nt start the strip before a certain date. I have No.14, then nothing until No.20 and this is the only strip that is added between those issues.
John.

Thanks John - there was a problem, apparently between Look-In and whoever licensed Terrahawks:
http://www.technodelic.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Upload01/Terrahawks.htm
- but I interviewed ex-Look-In editor Colin Shelbourn on Thursday, and he didn't recall this problem, believing it may have been handled by the art editor at the time.
He was curious if another popular series replaced Terrahawks, and in view of this question back to me, I wonder if Robin of Sherwood was brought forward as far as possible - the issue the strip began in actually went on sale a few days before the first series started - hence a gap of a week.
I wonder what they ran in issue 17 instead though...

They usually ran an extra feature, mabye about a new series starting that week, or something like that, sometimes an extra poster and an ad, the week between Dick Turpin and Battlestar Galactica, was filled with a two page Green X Code man picture strip (Dave 'Vader' Prowse, remember him?).

That would make sense but I was just wondering what exactly.

Oh yes, I recall those adverts - GXM had a young blond companion in that ad strip didn't he - and drawn, unless I'm very much mistaken, by Dave Gibbons!
