Does anyone have any contact info for getting in touch with artist John Burns? He did a beautiful Tripods comic strip (based on the TV show adaptation of the bopoks, but with new stories) for the short-lived "Beeb" junior magazine in 1985. The magazine was cancelled with issue #20 and the final story was ended without being completed. I'd like to try to find out if Mr. Burns actually drew a final 2-page strip for that story and if there is any way of getting a copy of it. Low quality scans of these strips can be found here:

http://www.thetripods.org/media/comics/beeb/beeb.html

I'm in the process of trying to get original copies of all 20 issues so I can do new, high quality (300 dpi) scans equivalent to the quality level of the Buck Rogers scans I just posted links for in the forum here. If anyone has any of these issues and can help me out with high quality scans I'd appreciate it. I just recently bought all the Boys' Life magazines with the comic strip adaptation of the 3 John Christopher novels (drawn by Frank Bolle) and have done a set of high quality scans of those as well.

Since Burns did the art on a lot of Look-In strips I thought maybe someone here may have some info on how to get in contact with him.

Thanks!

Allen, I have all 20 issues of the Beeb, and corresponded with John Burns last year for the Gerry Anderson Complete Comic History website. As far as I know, there were no unprinted instalments of the strip. As the British library only had 13 issues sent to them, it seems it was well known in advance the title was going to stop through poor sales.

PM me, and I'll forward you a contact address for John Burns, on the proviso you do not make this public.

Cool

As an addenda, this page was intended as an easter egg on the GACCH site to accompany an interview with John Burns but the material was thought too scant...

Thanks for that link! I had no idea that this Tripods strip even existed until a few days ago. It was a nice surprise for me!
