I'm going to be adding a 'Collect-A-Page' archive to 'Look-out' at the end of the month, and it started me thinking about popular groups during Look-in's run in the 80's when Collect-A-Page ran. I loved the New romantic thing, I used to admire the way some of the artists dressed, although I would have never had dressed like that myself, I liked Spandau, Duran and Visage. I also liked synth duos, like Tears for fears and Soft cell.

Who were other readers favourites?,

John.

Right there with you, John Wink I was heavily into the NRs and synth as well, and being at art college in the 1980s, you'd see a great many students who you could tell were inspired by them... Embarassed

It's amazing how many of these bands started in art college too. although I was a child of the 70s,and well into my 20s in the early 80's, I still remember the 80's more fondly music wise, I just thought it was much more exciting, and had an edge that the 70s didn't. it's just a shame the TV programmes didn't match....!!!
