Any strips (or maybe features?) which you think Look-In missed out on in its heyday? Series which you would have liked to have the Look-In strip treatment? Or good tie-in features?

I would've liked to see a picture strip based on the (then) hugely popular Incredible Hulk tv show which, of course, never happened in Look-In as Marvel comics owned the character.

Hmmm... that didn't stop an annual based on the TV series (illustrated by David Lloyd I seem to recall) appearing. As there was no 'TV Hulk' based comic I'm sure it could have been feasible. After all, wasn't 'The Man From Atlantis' originally based on 'Sub-Mariner'?

I would've also really have liked to see a picture strip based on The New Avengers! It was on ITV, it was certainly well-within the area that Look-In would usually tackle. I can't see, for the life of me, why they never adapted it for the mag... In fact, just out of interest, did The New Avengers ever appear in picture-strip form anywhere?

Not that I'm aware of but again there were a couple of annuals, illustrated by John Bolton who would later do 'The Bionic Woman' in 'Look-In'.

I do seem to remember getting a New Avengers annual one Christmas actually... I don't have it now, unfortunately, and can't recall there being a picture strip in it, to be honest. In fact, I seem to recall being a bit disappointed in it overall with not enough sexy pics of Joanna Lumley (who I adored back in those days). Does anyone have a copy, perchance...?

I really enjoyed 'Planet of the apes' and thought Look-in might go with that, but I think Marvel must have put their foot down!, I think most of the better series were covered. I think the Look-in artists were some of the best of the time and could have done justice to almost anything.

Yes I have a few issues of that shaqui, the artwork was'nt superb, and it was based more on the movies. Noble or Ranson would have done better, that was an opportunity missed.......

Planet of the Apes... How easily a show can be forgotten...

Presumably (though I never actually brought any of the issues), the Planet Of The Apes strip content itself was reprints of the US Marvel stuff...? As you say, it would've been quite nice to have seen a Look-In version if they'd been able to purchase the rights (assuming Look-In would've been interested in it)...

One TV show I enjoyed as a kid, which I seem to remember being played on ITV around the 5pm time, was irwin Allen's Lost In Space. Look-In had had a strip version of Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea a few years earlier so I wonder why they never delved depper into Allen's other TV shows? I've even quite enjoyed watching LiS again now as an adult and find them to be extremely hillarious though I didn't find them funny when I was younger. I remember vividly one episode with the Jupiter 2 travelling through space and there appearing a sort of beautiful 'space siren' floating silently outside the ship. It scared the crap out of me! Look-In could've really done the show some justice, I think.
