Hollywood often milks the vaults for old TV shows to resurrect, both for the big screen and small, but which classic TV shows would YOU like to see brought back to life, either as a movie or TV series, with the original cast or a new one? And if a new cast is needed, any ideas on who you'd want to see in the lead roles...?

Quite obvious really, but i'd love a Space:1999 revival (never!), I think with today's morphing technology, Maya would look amazing, I think Angelina Jolie would make a good Maya.

I'm with you on this one, John, as I'd also love to see a SPACE:1999 comeback! Thing is, I'd want a new TV series with an all-new cast but playing the original characters. I wouldn't want it to be renamed Space:2099 or other such re-numbering either, I'd still want the original 1999 70s-look to it (maybe with the flares taken in a bit though). I think a retro-show would be quite something, maybe a visual combination of both two seasons, Of course, if the model shots can still be done well, or even better, then keep them and dump the CGI. If the CGI can look at least as good as the models, or even better, then go with the CGI effects.

Has anyone heard of a remake of THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN? I heard quite a while ago that Jim Carrey was slated to star in such a movie but that it was going to be a spoof version and not something done with respect to the original SMDM TV show. Personally, I don't want this to happen unless they do it seriously. If a new version does come along, a re-titling may also be in order too, I would suspect, to (most likely) the SIX BILLION DOLLAR MAN.

I heard about this quite a few years ago Daz and it seems to have been stuck in 'development hell' ever since - thankfully! If they're not going to do it properly, then don't bother at all. I can't stand Jim Carey and I have to say I was quite horrified to see his name linked to the project. It all seems to have gone very quiet though. Hopefully by the time it sees the light, Carey will be too old Very Happy

There was talk of a remake of The Bionic Woman a few years ago from UPN but that didn't see the light of day either. I have to admit I was rather excited about that one, but I did wonder how they could have Jaime without Steve first. The Bionic Woman was introduced in an episode of The Six Million Dollar Man after all Confused

And don't forget Joss Whedon's version of Wonder Woman is supposed to be winging it's way to us very soon - well, 2008 Very Happy

I'm with you on the SMDM thing, if they are not gonna do it seriously then better to not do it at all, i'm the biggest Carrey fan, but would hate to see him in the role of Steve, I think Tom Cruise would make a good Austin.
